Add a second signer to a request

How to add up to two signers to a request, each with their own link.

Up to two signers per request

When a document has to be signed by two people — a contract between two parties, a confidentiality agreement, a letter of understanding — you can add a second signer in the same send. Each request supports up to two signers.

Add the second signer

When creating the request, in the Signers step:

  1. Enter the first signer’s email address.
  2. Click + Add signer and enter the second one’s email.
  3. Send the request.

Each signer receives their own unique, secure link to sign from the browser, with no need for an ArcaSign account.

How each person signs

Each signer can sign in one of two ways:

  • Handwritten signature: drawn directly in the browser, with no certificate or installation.
  • BCCR certified digital signature: with their card and the desktop signer app (Costa Rica, Law 8454).

Both signers receive the request at the same time and can sign whenever suits them.

See the status of each signer

From the request detail you will see the status of each signer: pending, signed, or rejected. When both have signed, the request is completed and everyone receives the final copy by email.
